Blue Ridge Marathon 2017

The third time is a charm. At least, that’s how I feel with marathons. My first two I bombed so hard that as soon as I crossed the finish I swore to never do it again. Yet, somehow I still found myself training for America’s Toughest Road Marathon, as an ambassador. I was given my choice of distance and something pulled me to the marathon. This third marathon of mine is the one that it took to fall in love with the distance. Despite the pain and suffering, I can’t wait to toe the line of another full marathon in November.  Continue reading “Blue Ridge Marathon 2017”

59th Annual RRCA National Convention

Wow, what a whirlwind of a week! I’m still trying to catch up from being gone this past weekend, but it’s completely worth it for the time I got to spend at the Annual RRCA Convention this past weekend. I am so thankful to the Lynchburg Road Runners Club for letting the Marketing Committee go. We had a blast and learned a ton! Here’s a little recap of our weekend in “the Big D”. 3 Halfs, 3 Weekends, 3 States: Wine & Dine Half Marathon

How has it already been a week since this race? I feel like it was just yesterday!

Wine & Dine 10K

You guys, I did it. After years (literally) of sitting at home stalking RunDisney events through Instagram, I FINALLY got to run in a RunDisney Weekend.

And not just any RunDisney Weekend. The Inaugural Lumiere’s Two Course Challenge.

And it was everything I ever dreamed it would be. Continue reading “Wine & Dine 10K”

3 Halfs, 3 Weekends, 3 States: Race 13.1 Fayetteville

This weekend kicked off a little mini challenge I have over the next 3 weekends: 3 Halfs, in 3 Weekends, in 3 States. It was going to be 6 back to back race weekends, but I realized that was a little crazy and decided to take it easy (haha).

This was my lifetime 18th half (#lj50by30), 8th half this year, and overall 8th Race 13.1 Event.

And I’m sad to say it was probably my least favorite event to date. Continue reading “3 Halfs, 3 Weekends, 3 States: Race 13.1 Fayetteville”

Shuck it Up, Buttercup

This weekend a hurricane hit the East Coast.

Her name was Hermine, and she made for one interesting weekend.

Friday

Morgan and I left Lynchburg. Our traveling party was already down 2 people due to the hurricane but we decided that as long as Rock n Roll was keeping the races on, we would make the trek to Virginia Beach. Continue reading “Shuck it Up, Buttercup”
